ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಹುಡುಗ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಒಂದು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಅಮ್ಮ ಬಿಸಿ ಅನ್ನ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತನು. ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಅನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾರು ತಿಂದೆ. ಎಂದು ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಸಂಜೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅಜ್ಜಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಅನ್ನ ಬಡಿಸಿದರು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಮರುದಿನ ಅವರು ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುಗಳು ರೈತರು ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಎಂದು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು. ಊಟ ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ ಆದಿತ್ಯ ತನ್ನ ತಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ನ ಉಳಿಸದೆ ತಿಂದನು. ಆಗ ಅಮ್ಮ ಅನ್ನ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ಎಂದು ನೆನಪಿಸಿದರು. ಆದಿತ್ಯ ರೈತರ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಕಲಿತನು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿಸಿದರು.

English Translation

In a small village lived a boy named Aditya. One morning, his mother cooked hot rice. He happily sat down to eat. At school during lunch, he said, "I ate rice and sambar with my friends." In the evening, his grandmother lovingly served him rice, and the family ate together. The next day they visited a farm, where the teacher explained that farmers grow rice for food. After eating, Aditya finished everything on his plate. His mother reminded him not to waste food. Aditya learned to respect the hard work of farmers and never waste food. Everyone praised him happily.
