ಒಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀನಾ ಎಂಬ ಹುಡುಗಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು, "ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಯಾವುದು?" ಮೀನಾ ನಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದಳು, "ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಪತ್ತು." ನಂತರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹೇಳಿದರು, "ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು." ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ವ್ಯಾಯಾಮ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಮಾತು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಆಟವಾಡುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರವಿ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೇಳಿದರು, "ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಪತ್ತು." ನಂತರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಶಾಲೆಯ ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಹೇಳಿದರು, "ಮರಗಳು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಸಂಪತ್ತು." ಶಾಲೆ ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಆಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಡ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು, "ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಜೊತೆ ಹಂಚಬೇಕು." ಆ ದಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಹಣ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ; ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಸ್ನೇಹ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಎಂಬ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಪಾಠವನ್ನು ಕಲಿತರು.
